I walk through the Italian Market (or as the old-timers call it, 9th Street) on a very regular basis. It is a place where you can experience commerce in a very visceral way. Merchants call out prices for oranges ("$3 for 10, sweet as honey") and signage is made by hand and adjusted on a moment's notice.
This morning I came across a classic sign for a parking lot right off the market.
Hour is $3.
All Day $5.
U-Turns $1.
I salute this convergent moment of business and humor.
