When I met Geoff last summer, we didn’t realize how much we had in common. I joined the team as the Studio Manager, and not long after I started, Geoff learned that he and I are both printmakers! Geoff shared his dream of transforming the P’unk Ave studio into a community-centric space and asked me to help turn the basement of 1168 E. Passyunk Ave into a screen printing studio… AND the rest is history. Nine months later we have a fully functioning silkscreen studio complete with exposure unit, dark room, washout sink, t-shirt press, and printing tables! So far we have printed our own P’unk Ave Thank You cards and t-shirts, and are so excited for upcoming opportunities to print in-house.
We are also very happy to announce that we will begin holding screen printing and maker classes at P’unk Ave! Our first class will be an introduction to screen printing with a focus on printing your own edition of Thank You cards. This class will be a one session workshop, but we’ll soon be offering more workshops and classes this summer.
