It’s that time again! P'unk Avenue is looking for a talented interactive designer / frontend developer to create powerful visual experiences and help see them through to implementation. You will be working with a tightly-integrated team of other frontend and backend developers across a variety of web-based and mobile projects including public-facing sites for academic and business clients as well as powerful CMS tools (Apostrophe!) and research applications.
You will be responsible for taking design and interface ideas from white board sketch to HTML click-through to finished widget. You will also be creating finished design documents that can be handed off to an implementation team, and then working closely with that team to create the final product. Since we are a small shop, we expect everyone to be able to collaborate over the entire lifespan of a project.
Our size means we need somebody who can think big picture—crafting strong design and brand frameworks that can apply to a project as it moves through various iterations or creating strategies around how to tie various disparate web properties together with a unified look and feel—and small picture—somebody who loves the details, and will take the time to get an icon or drop-shadow just perfect.
In addition to you role designing interfaces and building websites, you will be expected to participate in growing the overall design culture and practice of the team and to communicate our shared philosophies to the world, whether it’s blogging about a recent project launch or speaking at a conference, or representing at happy hour
