P'unk Ave Lunch Chronicles vol. 3

The BLT



In this week's most recent edition, the P'unk Ave crew took on the BLT. For the non bacon eaters, Matt cooked up some  Smoky Tempeh and Smart Bacon. The real, or substitute, bacon of choice was accompanied by multigrain bread, tomatoes, romaine lettuce and mayo or vegenaise. For sides, Matt deep fried some french fries. (We managed to leave the kitchen unscathed by the hot oil) We also had pickles and some smoked gouda. Between the bacon and the fries, it wasn't our healthiest lunch effort, but it was certainly tasty. The biggest challenge we came across was being able to toast all the bread. We ended up using a combo of the oven and toaster oven. Legend has it that our microwave can toast bread as well, but there was no way I was trying that out.
